Serving the entire student body, The Student Activities Center (SAC) is a signature building located in the core of the Coral Gables campus. The contemporary structure, with three floors of public spaces, creates a landmark presence on the centrally located Lake Osceola without overshadowing the existing structures surrounding the picturesque body of water.

Arquitectonica collaborated with the student body, student organizations, faculty members and staff to realize a plan that provides an array of student life spaces for student groups, ballrooms, conference rooms, workspaces, along with a fully-equipped media center to support the school newspaper and yearbook.

The firm designed the architecture, interiors and landscape for the 119,400 SF (11,090m2) project. The building’s centralized amenities include convenience retail, dining services and a study lounge. At night, the illuminated building encourages students to stay on campus for movies, live music, along with planned cultural events. The multipurpose facility is designed with a variety of venues to host international dignitaries, conferences, entertainment events, alumni and donor functions. The building is LEED Gold certified.

To increase campus mobility, Arquitectonica designed the 210-foot-long Fate Bridge which spans the eastern portion of Lake Osceola to connect students to the Lakeside Village housing complex also designed by Arquitectonica.
