New York, New York

Project Information

Designed by Arquitectonica, The Bronx Museum of the Arts opened in 2006 that would allow for the layout and circulation to be ideal for a cultural facility. The building provides a strong civic presence while being inviting to potential visitors. This project marked the beginning of an ambitious plan to expand and eventually replace the existing Bronx Art Museum.

The open arrangement of galleries, visible upon arrival, convey a message of accessibility to visitors. The community gallery is visible from the street as well as the lobby, cafe and shop, and it serves as a passage to the other galleries.
