Hilton Americas Houston Convention Center Hotel

Houston, Texas

Project Information

The Houston Convention Center Hotel, Houston’s largest convention hotel, is directly connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Hilton Americas opened its doors in December 2003 and served as the hotel headquarters for the National Football League and members of the worldwide media covering the 2004 Super Bowl festivities.

This contemporary, state-of-the-art, 24-story convention hotel includes 1,200 guest rooms, 91,500 SF (8,500 SM) of flexible meeting space, a business center, three restaurants, a lobby lounge, a Java Coast Coffee Bar, and a fitness center with spa facilities. Arquitectonica also designed the 1,600-car municipal parking garage adjacent to the hotel.

The Houston Convention Center has a 40,000 SF (3,716 SM) grand ballroom – the largest in Houston – as well as the 26,000 SF (2,415 SM) Ballroom of the Americas. All function spaces are equipped with “Smart Walls” containing sound, light and air controls, strategically placed floor pockets containing ethernet connections, dedicated “Show Power” and rigging points at every 12 linear feet. The hotel also includes a 28,000 SF (2,601 SM) Fitness Center / Spa with a 75-foot (23 m) outdoor lap pool and whirlpool, men’s and women’s locker rooms, dry sauna, steam room and four treatment rooms.
