The Franklin County Courthouse is designed to create a modern expression of a traditional courthouse. This LEED Gold Certified facility is Ohio’s first ‘green’ county courthouse. The 350,000 SF (32,500 SM) facility accommodates 20 Common Pleas Courtrooms, 10 Magistrate Courtrooms, 2 Special Proceedings courtrooms, and various offices & support staff, as well as detention facilities.
The building is designed to minimize the need for wayfinding. Elevators and courtrooms are clearly visible from all public areas inside and out, encouraging the county goal to promote a transparent system of justice.
