The design of the new Gulfshore Playhouse has diverse program elements woven, stitched and pleated together to create a dynamic form with fluid public spaces. The distinct and sculptural architecture reflects the innovative spirit of the work within. The exterior materials will respond to the local climate and convey a sense of permanence. A combination of natural materials such as masonry/stone with precast panels, and metal with curtainwall will provide transparency and light. The landscape plays an important role in connecting the public spaces to the greenway and streetscape along Goodlette Frank Road.

When completed the new 56,000 SF complex will feature a 400-seat theater with a balcony and state-of-the-art acoustics, a 150-seat black-box studio for more intimate productions, an educational wing, an atrium, an art gallery, a public café, a VIP lounge, a rehearsal space, a costume shop, a storage area and administrative offices.
