Arquitectonica to design the first Mr. C Residences

Building on the recent success of the Mr. C Hotel – Coconut Grove, the Cipriani family is doubling down and bringing the first branded stand-alone Mr. C Residences to Miami, Fla. The Mr. C brand is known for its mixture of upscale, modern-day elegance and old-world European glamour.

Terra Group has partnered with Ignazio and Maggio Cipriani, co-founder of the Mr. C signature name, to build a 20-story, 151-unit luxury residences on Bayshore Drive that will bear the Mr. C name. Coconut Grove is one of the most desirable areas in Miami and luxury living is becoming synonymous with the quaint little village. Mr. C Residences Coconut Grove, much like the Mr. C Hotel, will be a contemporary take on classic European living combining modern comfort with the maritime tradition of Coconut Grove. Arquitectonica has been commissioned to design what will be the epitome of opulent living in Miami. The firm has designed more luxury waterfront residences in Florida than any other firm.

Arquitectonica’s experience with branded residences and hospitality in South Florida includes the Mr. C Hotel Coconut Grove, The Ritz-Carlton Residences and Spa, and the Fendi Chateau. Arquitectonica and Terra are currently collaborating on the new 800-key Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel adjacent to the convention center.

The design of Mr. C Residences is inspired by the Italian tradition of yachting and boasts two nautical inspired towers that appear to sail towards Biscayne Bay and Dinner Key Marina. Long linear curvilinear balconies wrap the building and overlook the marina, skyline and the lush tree canopy of Coconut Grove. The exterior and interiors are design to invoke the classic yacht design. “We wanted people to feel like they are living on a yacht with the added conveniences of living in the city,” says Raymond Fort, who is designing the project for Arquitectonica.

The 496,000 SF residential development offers 5-star hotel-like amenities that include a variety of dining options, private Bellini bar on the pool deck, club pool with sundeck, garden-level lap pool, signature spa, Peloton studio, high-tech fitness center with lounge and juice bar, indoor yoga studio, business lounge, teen game lounge, kid’s playroom dubbed “Little C’s”, billiards room, and a library. The interiors and amenity spaces channel the nautical tradition that gives Coconut Grove its charm. The penthouses, two of which will offer private expansive rooftops with pools. The ground-floor on the Bay side will have retail space and multiple dining options.

Coconut Grove has seen a resurgence in recent years with the redevelopment of CocoWalk and the additional of a new office building. Mr. C Residences is across the street from Regatta Harbour, a 9.5-acre, mixed-use bayfront development under construction and designed by Arquitectonica, which will have more than 100,000 SF of retail and restaurants, a new marina. Next to Regatta Harbour is the 15-acre Regatta Park, which open in 2015.
