Situated in the heart of Toronto’s emerging East Bayfront waterfront district, Bayside Toronto is located on a 13-acre site along the water’s edge. This vibrant mixed-use waterfront community is part of a 2000-acre waterfront revitalization effort.
Arquitectonica designed the first two phases of Bayside Toronto. These buildings are also Arquitectonica’s first built works in Canada. Bayside’s first phase is Aqualina, a 368,000 GSF (34,000 m2) mixed-use development comprised of 228 residential condominiums, 12,000 SF of residential amenities in the basement and on the roof, 25,000 SF of retail, 423 below grade parking spaces and 374 bicycle storage spaces. Aqualina has the distinction of being Toronto’s first LEED Platinum residential building.
Adjacent to Aqualina is Aquavista, a 368,000 GSF (34,000 m2) mixed-use sustainable residential project with 280 market-rate condominium residences, 80 affordable rental housing apartments, and 4 stories of below-grade parking. The development also contains 15,500 SF of amenity space and 30,000 SF of retail space.
The entire transit-oriented Bayside Toronto community is within one block of several bus stations and is less than half a mile away from Toronto’s Union Station, which serves Amtrak, VIA Rail, Metrolinx / GO Transit, and the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) buses, light rail and train lines.
Bayside Toronto has been designed to serve as a year-round urban destination that combines functionality and architectural distinctiveness with some of Toronto’s best public spaces, and will become Canada’s first LEED Gold-certified neighborhood.
