Luxury Collection Tambo del Inka Resort and Spa is a 5-star resort that includes 128 guest rooms and is formed by two axis of buildings, the bigger of the two located in front of the river, is composed of a series of trapezoidal volumes in which the public areas are located. At both East and West ends of this axis, two rectangular volumes extend out of the axis to house rooms, forming a sinuous axis with view to the River Vilcanota. From the center of this sequence of volumes and adjacent to the main lobby lounge, the smaller axis extends also in trapezoidal volumes, containing all service areas of the hotel. The whole project adapts to the topography of the site and the finishes consider the local materials, such as the stone, the wood and the clay tiles, as basic components of the architecture. Also, the volumes have roofs with slope of twenty-two degrees as recommended for this climate and location. Special care has been taken in the preservation and beautification of the existing vegetation. Among the considerations taken to the surrounding natural setting, the roofs of the buildings slope down to blend with the context. The hotel consists of a spa, lobby lounge, bar, restaurant, game room, business center, pool, stores, a multi-purpose room for 300 people and its own train station. The resort was the first LEED-certified hotel in Peru.
