The expansion program for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians included a new 80,000 SF first-class gaming casino and a 572-room hotel with corresponding administrative areas and back-of-house functions, parking and infrastructure; as well as complimentary uses and amenities such as retail, restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, fitness center and health spa, beauty salon and barber shop and pool areas.
The design of the hotel tapers up on a sweeping curve that culminates in the gold globe. The tower is comprised by 18 floors and three circulation cores, each floor having a section dedicated to VIP guest suites. The main entry drive to the hotel and casino pierces a 300-foot “water wall” that drops off the Saturn-ring front canopy. Guests are welcomed by a series of animated water fountains programmed to custom theme music. A remarkable water/light show is featured periodically and can be viewed from many areas in and around the facility.
The center of the oval-shaped casino floor is a feature casino lounge with a center bar and ice/water sculpture. “Champions” a sports lounge and grille, located just off the gaming floor, features high-resolution video through several large format monitors and a central “video wall” with surround sound. A 100-seat show bar, visible to the entire gaming floor, hosts live music and entertainment. A coffee bar and lounge, nestled by the main hotel elevators, is a welcomed retreat from the high-energy casino environment. A rooftop lounge overlooks the hotel entry and is a prime venue for viewing the water and light show. The casino floor can also be approached from above by escalators from the bridge to the Silver Star Resort and Casino.
The facility has a separate VIP registration lobby and express elevators to hotel guest suites. A VIP function room designed for hosting special private group functions. The High-Limit slots area and Baccarat Salon is also located adjacent to the VIP Lobby, allowing a fully integrated VIP gaming experience.
