University of Miami’s Lakeside Village received the distinguished The Chicago Athenaeum: International Architecture Award

We are pleased to announce the University of Miami Lakeside Village Student Housing received the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, International Architecture Award®.

“It is a great honor for the University to be recognized internationally for the design of its buildings. We have worked with Arquitectonica on several of our important campus facilities—including the Donna E. Shalala Student Center and the School of Architecture’s Thomas P. Murphy Design Studio Building—and with each design a new standard is set,” said University of Miami President Julio Frenk. “Such a prestigious award brings a strong sense of pride to the entire University of Miami community.”

The International Architecture Awards are the oldest and most prestigious international building awards program that honors new and cutting-edge design worldwide. An international jury of prominent architects, designers, critics and educators chose the winners from more than 450 entries. A special Awards Gala Reception and Dinner is to take place on Friday, September 10, in Athens, Greece, next to the Acropolis.
